CAMPERSHIP FUND

Welcome to the Algonquin Campership Fund (ACF)!  Founded in 2000 by Camp Pathfinder alumni Scott Forsyth and Trip Pierson, ACF is a labor of love created to help kids experience the magic of Algonquin camps like Pathfinder and Northway. With a little help from their friends—the Prewitts (Northway), Arthurs, and Sladdens (Pathfinder)—Scott and Trip built a fund that opens doors for boys and girls to paddle, hike, and explore Algonquin Park.

 

ACF operates as a scholarship fund through the Rochester Area Community Foundation (RACF), meaning we accept charitable gifts that go straight to work. Whether it’s supporting families, school groups, or camps in need of a boost, we’re all about giving more kids a shot at an unforgettable outdoor adventure.

How do we make it happen? Generous donors, alumni, family charitable funds, and trusts who share our passion for education, outdoor fun, and building leadership skills. Our volunteer Board of Directors—made up of canoe-tripping camp alumni with decades of Algonquin adventures under their belts—handles fundraising, reviewing applicants, and making sure every donation creates a ripple of impact.

Oh, and here’s the best part: nearly every penny of your donation goes directly to campers and camps through scholarships and program support. At ACF, we believe that nature has the power to transform lives, and we’re here to make that magic accessible to all.
